The Whitehall rowing boat was an early 19th Century design.
The origin is unclear with some saying the Whitehall boat design came from England.
However, a few believe the Whitehall rowing boat came into existence some time in the 1820's, built by navy yard apprentices on Whitehall Street, New York City.
My Whitehall row boat is created from Cedar Wood strips for tandem or single rowing. All cedar strips have been meticulously glued together and clamped without the use of staples. No fixings used in the construction except on floor, seats and oar locks.
The boat is finished with Westsystems epoxy and fibreglass with a Epifanes UV marine varnish.
The flooring is solid Teak Wood at 22mm (7/8 inch).
Seats are American Cherry Wood coated with epoxy and UV marine varnish.
The Wine glass or heart shaped Transom is Ash Wood, along with the boats Keel and Gunwales.
If your looking for a Wedding arrival to match no other, this Row boat is available for hire.
